Qualified Participants Must:

Have a Body Mass Index > 27

Either be:

> 40 years of age with established Cardiovascular Disease > 90 days prior to visit 1
-
(a): Women 55-69 years of age or men 50-64 years of age with at least 3 risk factors listed below, or
(b): Women > 70 years of age or men > 65 years of age with at least 3 risk factors listed below.​

Risk factor:

Current tobacco use
-
Dyslipidemia (High Cholesterol)
-
Hypertension
-
Kidney Disease
-
Prediabetes

Kidney Disease Prevention
Mississippi has one of the highest rates of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and diabetes. USM & NDORI need volunteer research subjects to help study a new test that might help prevent kidney failure.
